Yup, it’s true: The Buddy System’s video for Clap Paws is debuting on MTV2’s Subterranean this Sunday night (or Monday morning if you’re picky) at 1 am! Tell your friends, your family and all of your pets then tune in and express your appreciation to the fine folks at the Viacom family of companies by dropping a note on The Subterranean Blog requesting that they keep playing our jams.
Peep the YouTube version here to prep yourself for the real TV deal:
Also this Saturday night we will be sharing the stage with the incomparable Je Suis France and the fantastic Royal Bangs at the Fabulous 40 Watt Club for the 10th annual Twilight Delirium show. Je Suis France will be dropping their new Death Wish E.P. (which sadly has nothing to do with Charles Bronson) and we will have our new limited edition Electric Science Team Buddy System DVD, shirts and buttons for sale so bring some extra cheese!
I keep meaning to introduce you all to my little buddy and since Team Brown just brought it up, I give you my own personal Salacious Crumb, the A #1 ladykiller, the baby seal who keeps it real, the one and only MR PRESIDENT!!
Check out his full website HEREÂ
For the past few months Mat, Craig, Lauren and I have been working on a new music/animation band called The Buddy System. Think Cornelius, Stereolab and Tullycraft playing along to the Electric Company and old Disney or Hanna Barbera cartoons. We are making our live debut at the Kindercore Xmas Party on Saturday, December 8th with a miniset - in case you didn’t know, animation takes a while.
We also have a song on the upcoming XMAS 3: The War on Christmas comic and compilation!Anyway there will be more news, music and video from us as time goes on but I wanted to announce the band here and point you all to our shiny new (but still in progress) MySpace page so that we can be friends! You can listen to our XMas song and a demo of another jam while you are at it. Also if you want a sneak peak at some of the animation in progress click HERE just don’t tell Craig since it isn’t finished yet! Â
Oh and while I am at it here are some images from upcoming animations:Â
don’t know how many of you were at the Popfest last week but it’s good to see that the indierock masses are still wearing thick black rimmed glasses in 2007 and fucking sweaters in august. it was making me feel hot just lookin’ at them. not that i’ve changed up much in the last 10 years but then again i am soooo fucking awesome it doesn’t matter how i look. besides man, it’s about the MUSIC!!! whatevs. the whole weekend just reminded me of this old Onion article. http://www.theonion.com/content/node/27870
speaking of nerds, the remake of Revenge Of the Nerds must be stopped! it’s hurting America.
i’m starting to think letting me write for the Kindercore blog may have been an oversite of judgement by Dan and Ryan.
