Hey Buddies!

We are back from a quick swing through the state that “Cops” built and we had a blast despite our Friday show being cancelled! Deciding to make the best of a bum sitch, the whole gang spent the day at Disney World! We made it through all 4 parks in a single day and had about as good a time as one can imagine.

I posted pics on my Flickr page and will most likely post some more on our MySpace page when I have a chance.

Big thanks go out to all of our Florida friends both new and old! The Buddy System’s big list of good dudes continues to grow: Jesse & Nethie, Jack at Aestheticized Presents, and Curtis from Summer Birds in the Cellar!!

This Saturday we will be sharing the Georgia Theater stage with this grab bag of killer acts: Venice is Sinking, Casper and the Cookies, Deaf Judges, Fairmont Fair and Matias. The doors are at 9 and we are on second so come early and stay late! Chances are we might have something special up our sleeves for the show, come find out!

We leave you with this gem of a band photo taken after Lauren and Craig convinced Mat and I to face our crippling fear of heights and ride the Magic Kingdom’s “Splash Mountain”… as you can see it worked out great, our fear = comedy gold.

Kindercore’s ani-band is hitting the road for a surprise evening in beautiful Birmingham Alabama, come say hi!!

Secret History Productions presents: Islands with The Buddy System at the Bottletree in Birmingham Alabama on Thursday, May 1st!

This show is for ages 18 and up. Ticke​ts for this show are $12. You can buy them online HERE!

So who are Islands? Well I think the kids have been talking about them for a while but here is some more info for the curious minds among you:

“Islan​ds sprou​ted out of the kindr​ed x-​ray visio​n of Nick Diamo​nds and J’​aime Tambe​ur,​ two rag-​tag youth​s from the weird​ side of the track​s.​ Previ​ously​,​ they’​d worke​d toget​her in sludg​e-​crust​ band “the unico​rns”​ and, after​ some time apart​,​ met up in L.A. on the set of Woody​ Allen​’​s film “​Melin​da Melin​da Melin​da”​.​ Unexp​ected​ly,​ they’​d both been separ​ately​ cast in the pivot​al “​resta​urant​”​ scene​,​ in small​ “​walk-​on”​ roles​ oppos​ite each other​.​ Their​ fierc​e compe​titiv​e spiri​ts kept the two from getti​ng too close​,​ but once the final​ cut of the film surfa​ced and they found​ both of their​ parts​ had been left on the cutti​ng room floor​,​ their​ dorma​nt frien​dship​ had been rekin​dled,​ cloak​ed in mutua​l pity and despo​ndenc​y.​ After​ much delib​erati​on,​ they agree​d to retur​n to the snowy​ clime​s of Montr​eal and jump head f​irst into the often​ heart​break​ing world​ of music​.​”

Yup, it’s true: The Buddy System’s video for Clap Paws is debuting on MTV2’s Subterranean this Sunday night (or Monday morning if you’re picky) at 1 am! Tell your friends, your family and all of your pets then tune in and express your appreciation to the fine folks at the Viacom family of companies by dropping a note on The Subterranean Blog requesting that they keep playing our jams.

So today is the anniversary of my lovely wife’s D.O.B. and as part of her present I got my Buddy System bandmate and all around buddy Lauren Gregg to paint a Lewis Fambly portrait. The resulting painting is far cooler than I could have imagined so I am sharing it here for all to see.

Check out this killer write up of The Buddy System on the always great Cable & Tweed blog. Any blog that writes about Captain America and indie rock is good with me!

Also at our Twilight Delerium show with Je Suis France and The Royal Bangs we will have the first copies of our 4 song/video DVD Electric Science Team Buddy System. The DVD will be limited to 100 hand numbered copies and we will have remaining copies in the Kindercore Shop the Monday after the show. Also on sale at the show and on the aforementioned Monday will be our brand new shirts and button sets.

HELLO HELLO HELLO HELLO HELLO HELLO

The Buddy System will debut a new jam [which will mark a spreading of wings for the group as it combines pictures and drawings and is accompanied by vocals all around - a 4-way Buddy Sing Songer] at the GO bar this Saturday. Come see us for FREE. Our last GO bar show was a big sweaty blast of good times and this one promises to raise that bar.

After we are done with the cartoons, Of Montreal’s video artiste Nico Danger will rock a full steam optical display accompanied by DJ Bambi & Thumper. Thumper might be Kindercore’s Dan Geller but I would have no way of knowing that for sure.
