2007Yearly Archive XMas 3: The War on Christmas & Toy Drive - a smashing success!!XMas 3: The War on Christmas is almost sold out in the Shop but you can pick up the digital version from iTunes (it includes all of the music and comics) and 100% of the profits will go to Oxfam. BTW word on the street is that this is the first comic book ever to be released through iTunes! I want to thank everyone who came out to our party this past weekend - because of you a ton of local kids are going to have toys this Xmas! We took the toys donated at the door plus toys we bought with 100% of the door money and donated them tothe Boys & Girls Club of Athens to be distributed at their Xmas party on December 19th. We tried to get a good range of stuff and did our best to avoid destroying young lives with l’ilest slut dolls (Bratz) or anything else too ridiculous. All I know is that some lucky kid is getting a telescope!!

Come find out… Posted by ryan on 30 Nov 2007 at 03:08 pm XMAS 3: The War on Christmas - PREORDERS!! WOOT!!Hey Kidz! The comics may still be on the printing press and the CDs may still be baking in the magic CD oven thingy (how do they make CDs anyway right? Oh well, we may never know) BUT you can now preorder the newest (and greatest) installment in the Kindercore holiday compilation series. Click HERE to place your order and we will ship ‘em the second they get back from the plant. But don’t drag your feets, because we are only making 100 copies for sale online (seriously, no joking) - the music and comics will also be available from the iTunes store in a week or so but this is the only place to pick up the limited edition physical version. While you are at it why not pick up the just released “Save The Scene” from King of Prussia, The Trouble Revolution comic and music anthology or our two new shirts (the Lauren Gregg Kindercore Puppy Shirt or the Ryan Lewis “Love American Style” shirt)?! Give a little Kindercore this Xmas!! PLUS - 100% percent of the profits from this release (both the physical and digital versions) will be donated to Oxfam America to help out unfortunate folks around the world - so get your rock on and geek out for charity this XMAS!! THNX Posted by ryan on 27 Nov 2007 at 12:49 pm The Shop is OPEN!! + XMas 3: The War on Christmas teaser…Hey kiddos! After much toiling in the pixel and code factory we are ready to let ‘er rip as it were. Head over to www.kindercore.com/shop to pick up The Trouble Revolution comic and music anthology, the debut from Athens pop darlings King of Prussia (Available now on CD exclusively in our shop. Yup, this is the only place you will be able to get it on disc - coming at the end of the month to iTunes and various other digital distros) AND our first two shirt designs in the clothing section. Over the next few weeks we will be ironing things out and adding some out of print stuff to the shop to be sure to check back. In early December look for XMas 3: The War on Christmas, a 20 track CD comp of bands rocking the jingle bell jams (look for Ruby Isle, King of Prussia, Headlights, The Show is The Rainbow, Folklore, Bunnygrunt, a new project featuring Bill Doss, Pete Erchick and Jon Fernandez from The Olivia Tremor Control, the debut of The Buddy System and more…) PLUS a full color comic with a mix of holiday themed madness and sweetness from Jesse Lockwood, Travis Fox, Rama Hughes, Lauren Gregg, Craig Sheldon, Nethie Lockwood, Ryan Lewis (hey, that’s me!), Mat Lewis & Maya Livio!! This is the finest Kindercore XMas release to date! Posted by ryan on 16 Nov 2007 at 04:49 pm KINDERCORE at CMJ & Xmas magic on the way!Hello one and all… This year Kindercore is partnering with our booking agent friends at Green Room Music Source for a Green Room/Kindercore Records showcase at CMJ ‘07! Green Room will also be hosting a daytime party as well. The Deets: The Green Room/Kindercore showcase takes place that same Bat-day at the same Bat-spot! Come early and stay late! Here’s the line up: 6:00-6:30pm Ezra Furman & The Harpoons KINDERCORE BANDS: ••••••• • X-Mas, we hardly knew ye… Things have been a little quiet around the site lately but never fear, we have been hard at work on our next release - X-Mas 3: The War on Christmas! A continuation of our popular and perennially out of print X-Mas comps from the days of yore, X-Mas 3 will boast a huge pile of holiday covers and originals from Kindercore faves as well as some folks we dig that live outside of our little universe. BUT, that’s not all… no, no, no - this wouldn’t be Kindercore Mark II: Jazz Oddysey if we just stuck to the music now would it? Nope. The jingle jangle holiday wishes will be packaged in a comic featuring new stories from Jesse Lockwood, Lauren Gregg, Craig Sheldon, Travis Fox, some guy named Ryan Lewis and a bunch of others… Mid-November-ish seems like a reasonable time to expect this one to drop on you via the (opening soon we promise) Kindercore Store and iTunes. Details will follow as they reveal themselves. You are advised to be on the lookout for dancey freakouts with hearts of darkness. BANDS PLAY SHOWS!! The full lineup for the CMJ showcase includes our own Ruby Isle, King of Prussia and USSR as well as other artists booked by Green Room (whose names I don’t currently know or else I would list them here). More info on that coming soon! READING, IT’S WHAT’S FOR DINNER!! SAUCER FULL OF SEACREST!! • In other seacrest news there is a super seacrest project in the works for release in the coming months (or years) from a band whose name I can’t tell you. Awesome huh? I knew you would be excited. RYAN SAYS GOODBYE FOR NOW!! THNX Posted by ryan on 07 Sep 2007 at 02:02 pm Kindercore Art Show Preview!!Hey Folks By now you have heard me ramble on about the Reanimation Celebration happening tomorrow (Saturday 8-18) at the Caledonia featuring Fabulous Bird, Ruby Isle, USSR, King of Prussia and The Masters plus the Kindercore art show with Lauren Gregg, Jared Brown and Jesse Lockwood… BUT until now you have not been able to lay your peepers on any of the art being unveiled at said show. These three pieces by Lauren, Jared and Jesse respectively will be available (along with others) to look at and (if you so desire) purchase tomorrow night starting at 7pm. Come out and hang! Posted by ryan on 17 Aug 2007 at 01:07 pm Kindercore in the “News”With the announcement or our return we have been getting some really nice attention from various media outlets and with this Saturday’s Reanimation Celebration at the Caledonia we were featured in the two main Athens papers. Check out the piece in the Athens Banner-Herald HERE and check out the Flagpole story HERE. The lovely photo of Dashing Dan Geller and I was taken at the Fortress of Solitude by an Athens Banner-Herald photographer (whose name I forget but she was really nice) and the below cover of the Flagpole was drawn by Kindercore artist eggstroidonaire Lauren Gregg as was the show flier. Come out and join us this weekend to peep (and buy) some art and shake your ass to the music. We will also have copies of the “Trouble Revolution” comic and music anthology, our first two shirt designs and a bunch of old rarities including out of print vinyl for sale at the Kindercore Kuntry (K)Store staffed by the lovely Mrs. Lewis. Posted by ryan on 15 Aug 2007 at 12:57 pm Kindercore Party in Athens, GA on August 18th!!If you are reading this you know that Kindercore once again roams the Earth in search of mortal flesh… SO why not come party with us when we celebrate our reanimation at the Caledonia Lounge on August 18th?! There will be music from USSR, King of Prussia and Ruby Isle as well as a massive Masters of the Hemisphere tribute band featuring a cast of thousands (or so I am told). In addition to the rocking there will be art hanging (and selling) from Lauren Gregg, Jesse Lockwood and Jared Brown and records spinning at the hands of the mighty Devlin Thompson!! But wait, there’s more… This show will also mark the release of the Trouble Revolution comic and music anthology (if the printer and Universe are on our side) and the unveiling of our first two shirt designs!! I know, it’s crazy right?! Now here is the kicker… we are offering up all of this entertainment for the low, low price of $5!! No you don’t need new glasses, you read that correctly - $5 for more booze soaked fun than you can shake a Twinkie at! You are welcome. Posted by ryan on 27 Jul 2007 at 12:35 pm |
